The American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) is an international association of more than 5,000 veterinarians, veterinary technicians and veterinary students interested in bovine (cattle) medicine. Founded in 1965 as a not-for-profit 501(c)(6) organization, AABP publishes guidelines and position statements and works through committees covering animal welfare, beef health management, cattle youngstock, genomics and genetics, lameness, milk quality and udder health, nutrition, pharmaceuticals and biologics, reproduction and sustainability. It also runs a mentorship program, an AABP Foundation and scholarships, and provides resources on disease outbreaks such as H5N1 in dairy cattle and New World screwworm.
