Established in 1926, the American Cleaning Institute (ACI) represents the U.S. cleaning products industry. It works to advance public understanding of the safety and benefits of cleaning products and protect members' ability to formulate products. ACI shares information about industry products with the technical community, policymakers, health professionals, educators, media and consumers. A 25-member board of elected representatives from member companies sets policy, and ACI programs address human health and environmental safety.
