The American Soybean Association (ASA) represents U.S. soybean farmers on domestic and international policy issues important to the soybean industry. It has 26 affiliated state soybean associations representing 30 soybean-producing states and more than 500,000 U.S. soybean farmers. ASA's primary focus is policy development and implementation: policy begins with farmer members and is adopted by voting delegates at an annual meeting, and ASA carries it out by testifying before Congress, lobbying Congress and the Administration, and communicating with members, relevant audiences and the media. ASA also develops farmer leaders.
