Organization overview
Since 1920, the National Association of State Foresters (NASF) has represented the directors of forestry agencies in the 50 states, five U.S. territories, three nations in compacts of free association with the U.S., and the District of Columbia. Through these 59 State Foresters, it advocates for federal legislation and national policies for healthy, resilient and productive rural and urban forests. State forestry agencies manage state and private forests and protect more than 1.5 billion acres from wildfire. NASF works with three regional state forester organizations.
