The American Beekeeping Federation (ABF) has worked for more than 80 years in the interest of beekeepers, large and small, and others in the beekeeping industry to ensure the future of the honey bee. It acts on behalf of the beekeeping industry on issues affecting the interests and economic viability of its sectors, and provides beekeepers with education on challenges such as disease, shrinking habitat and legislation. Its membership of more than 1,150 beekeepers ranges from operations of a few colonies to tens of thousands, along with industry stakeholders. ABF holds an annual conference and tradeshow, publishes legislative updates, and supports efforts against honey adulteration through its Honey Defense Fund program.
