American Farmland Trust (AFT) was founded in 1980 to save America's farms and ranches. Its mission is to save the land that sustains us by protecting farmland, promoting sound farming practices and keeping farmers on the land. AFT works nationwide through on-the-ground projects, research and advocacy, and addresses the connection between the land, the practices used on it and the farmers and ranchers who steward it. It maintains the Farmland Information Center, a clearinghouse of print materials, laws and sample documents related to farmland protection, and created the No Farms No Food® message.
